Many tasks must be accomplished to operate The Community Table. They include:

• Picking up food, supplies and other contributions
• Rotating stock
• Assisting with office work
• Other ad hoc tasks

Due to the varied nature of these tasks no job descriptions are provided here. Specific instructions will be given upon assignment of a task. Generally, these tasks will be assigned on the basis of the match between the requirements of the task and the skills and knowledge of the volunteer.

If you are interested in being involved in this way but prefer not to be involved in the above jobs, please contact the Executive Director at 828-586-6782 to discuss your specific interests, knowledge or skills and the needs of The Community Table for assistance.

There are two important caveats in this regard. First, if you do volunteer, remember that we will be depending on you to perform your task(s) as agreed. Please arrive at the agreed time and place per the schedule as agreed and strive to complete the task by the agreed to date. If this proves impossible, please contact the Executive Director as soon as possible to make other arrangements.

Second, remember that this is a food service facility. Your appearance and deportment must be compatible with this milieu.
