Welcome to The Community Table
The Community Table is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide nutritious meals to our neighbors in need in a welcoming environment. Since 1999, our vision has been that no one in Jackson County goes to bed hungry. Meals are served on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 4-6 p.m. Our food pantry provides groceries for home use on the same days between 11-6. More information on these programs may be found on the Need Assistance? page of this website. Everyone is welcome and there is never a fee. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, so come enjoy a nutritious home-cooked meal with us.

From the Director:
We are so thankful to everyone who made it possible for The Table to move into our current facility in July of 2012- we certainly needed the additional space! In 2013 we served 22,138 meals and provided 7,527 food boxes, a respective 30% and 80% increase in need for our services from the previous year. This made for a record-breaking year, and only with your help were we able to keep up with such staggering increases in the need for emergency food assistance. We are grateful for your support and it is still needed to keep a cornucopia of nutritious foods on our pantry shelves.
The causes for the continuing high level of need are many, including cuts to nutrition programs, rising food and fuel costs, and a scarcity of living wage jobs. The resulting poverty is like a disease that a person can't overcome without help. Fortunately, hunger has a cure. This is especially vital for the hundreds of disabled and elderly folks who rely on our help to survive. Of course, the words of our clients tell this story better than anything I can say.
Roseanna tells us: I am disabled and on a fixed income with 3 children. Without your help we could not make it through each month.
Sharon shares: Thank you and God bless you for helping me feed my children while I am looking for work.
John puts it plainly and powerfully: Thank you for not turning my family away when we had no money for food.
We can make no better investment than when we invest in people. We all need well-nourished children to ensure a bright and healthy future. Please help us fill their bellies, and those of all our neighbors in need. Together, we can make sure no one in Jackson County goes to bed hungry.
Please consider a gift of your time, your money, produce from your garden, or even becoming a sustaining donor by using the “Donate Now” button at the top of this page to set up an automatic monthly tax-deductible donation. Please know that whatever the amount of your gift, you are investing in a better, hunger-free, future for us all.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Amy Grimes Sims, Executive Director, June 2014
